The Ostfalia University of Applied Sciences Inaugurates Its New Laboratories

More room for teaching and research activities: The Faculty of Automotive Engineering at the Ostfalia University of Applied Sciences recently inaugurated its new laboratory area, which covers an area of 600 square metres, at the Wolfsburg AG Forum AutoVision together with its partners and other guests.

By leasing the area for the next five years, the Faculty of Automotive Engineering has now relocated to a site that directly neighbours the Volkswagen AG development facilities in the Simultaneous Engineering (SE) Centre. The laboratory also provides lecturers and students with a climatic chamber in which they can carry out tests examining the expansion of automotive components under the influence of heat. New laboratory facilities will also be provided for the field of active and passive vehicle safety, for example by adding corresponding test rigs to the existing equipment currently used to virtually simulate vehicle crashes. On top of all this, the spacious test hall is also home to a vehicle hoist, test vehicles and further test rigs, for example for the field of ergonomics.
