A vote was then held to choose the best ideas as part of the Ideas Workshop, the winner of which was a sports facility for inline skaters in the city of Wolfsburg. The close runners-up were the reopening of a circus school for children and young people in the city of Braunschweig and the decoration of the window areas of empty shops in the region. These ideas will now be examined with regard to their economic feasibility and, if positively assessed, will be incorporated into the “Gemeinsam gestalten – ErlebnisRegion 2020” (‘Working Together to Shape the Experience Region 2020’) development concept. After being reviewed, all other ideas will be, where appropriate, recorded in the large Ideas Catalogue for future developments.
From mid-October to mid-November 2011, local residents of the Braunschweig-Wolfsburg region contributed towards the Ideas Workshop of the ErlebnisRegion2010 with around 200 ideas in a wide range of areas, from a more extensive spectrum of sports activities through to more diverse events and right through to an extended infrastructure.
